Kurt Williams

Meet Kurt Williams. Kurt Williams is the 5pm and 6pm anchor for News 3 and reports regularly in the field. This is his 37th year at the station. He's married to a Virginia Beach high school teacher, has three daughters and four grandchildren.

Kurt is a member at Coastal Community Church in Virginia Beach, where he serves on the First Impressions Team as a greeter and also is a lifegroup leader at Coastal Community Church.

Kurt has volunteered as a mentor at various Virginia Beach schools working with African-American males.

He is also a board member of Seapointe College in Norfolk, a biblical leadership institution for community care.

Before coming to Hampton Roads, Kurt worked at the CBS station in Chattanooga, TN for two and half years—prior to that, the NBC affiliate in Atlanta.​

Kurt is a graduate of Georgia State University in Atlanta and a proud Army brat, born in Munich, Germany!

Akinwunmi Ojo-Carons, MD

Meet Dr. Akin Ojo-Carons, a dedicated urologist and global health advocate committed to providing specialized care and improving healthcare access worldwide. Born and raised in Nigeria, Dr. Ojo-Carons completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago before earning his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2008.

Following medical school, Dr. Ojo-Carons pursued residency training in Surgery/Urology at Northshore – LIJ Medical Center, Hofstra University, where he developed expertise in a wide range of urological conditions. He further honed his skills through a fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at the Mayo Clinic, along with global health fellowships at Justinien Hospital and the Department of Otolaryngology National Hospital.

Dr. Ojo-Carons' clinical focus includes voiding dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, neuro-urology, pelvic pain/chronic prostatitis, and kidney/ureteral stones. He is passionate about providing compassionate and comprehensive care to both men and women.

A member of prestigious organizations such as the American Urological Association (AUA), Endourological Society, and American Medical Association (AMA), Dr. Ojo-Carons is committed to advancing the field of urology through research and academic contributions. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and presented his research findings at various national and international conferences, including the AUA section meetings.

Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Ojo-Carons is deeply involved in global health initiatives, striving to address healthcare disparities in underserved communities. He is dedicated to improving healthcare infrastructure and resources in third-world countries where access to quality care is limited.

In his free time, Dr. Ojo-Carons enjoys outdoor activities such as biking and soccer, embracing an active lifestyle that aligns with his commitment to promoting health and wellness.
